Gamify this!

Updated: Aug 12

Wine games for adults.

Humans have been playing the games since they appeared on Earth. Games are the most affordable approach to having fun, learning something new, and making new social connections. Humans have been drinking wine for a while, of course, not since the time they appeared on Earth, but not far from that. At first blush, having fun and learning about wine is more complicated. At least you have to be eligible to drink alcohol. The good news is that wine helps even more than games with socialising.

What if we add a game to the wine studying? Let’s look at wine and games together.

At A Wine Adventure (AWA), we believe learning should be exciting and engaging, breaking free from the common biases around wine studying. That’s why we use gamification in everything we do.

Contrary to popular belief, to be a wine lover doesn't require memorising all the Burgundy grand cru, or to be able to describe wine doesn’t mean spending countless hours learning professional studying books.

Through the power of gamification, we have transformed traditional approaches to wine education, making it interactive, immersive, and fun.

Gamification turns learning about wine into an adventure filled with excitement and discovery.

Imagine engaging in blind tastings. You can’t see what colour wine is in your glass, and you're challenged to identify wines based only on your olfaction and gustation. This activity not only sharpens your palate but also adds an element of mystery and intrigue to the learning experience. By removing the prejudices and focusing solely on the taste, smell, and texture of wine, blind tastings provide a level playing field for all participants, whether they are beginners or experienced wine enthusiasts.

We use stylish black glasses to hide the wine colour and Nez du Vin” kits for discovering the aromas. Do you remember how Camille from the Drops of God series (Apple TV) practiced her smell sense? We have the exact set!

It’s impossible to learn wine only with a study book as well as to get full satisfaction with degustation without some basic knowledge. Gamification can be easily added by crafting interactive challenges and quizzes on wine regions, grape varieties, and winemaking techniques. We create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment at our masterclasses that sparks curiosity, encourages exploration, and brings the joy of wine to everyone.

Be sure, it saves a lot of time, replaces the hours in the library, and makes your wine studying fun.

Anyway, to learn about wine, we can’t avoid books at all. The good choice for getting or refreshing your wine theory knowledge without traditional studying books might be comics or graphic novels.

And finally, we can simply play the boardgames such as Wine Monopoly, Wine IQ, Vinopolis.

But the ultimate wine game you can play is Wine Cluedo, a murder mystery that happened in the vineyard. The investigation becomes the perfect opportunity to learn about wine. Step by step uncovering the clues, the players will learn more and more about the wine.

At AWA, we offer various gamified experiences as part of our commitment to making wine education accessible and enjoyable. From interactive tastings to engaging challenges, we aim to provide an unforgettable wine-learning adventure.

We will be happy to sip and play with you! How about you?
