Tenuta Luce is one of the few great “Super Tuscans”. It began as a project initiated in the early 90s with the meeting of two “legends” of wine, Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi.
Nestled on the gentle slopes southwest of the village of Montalcino in Tuscany, the Tenuta Luce vineyards span an area abundant in biodiversity, offering some of the most ideal conditions for grape cultivation. The vineyards are divided into distinct parcels, each with its unique characteristics, and elevations range from 200 to 430 meters above sea level. The land itself is diverse, with three primary soil types: mixed-clay soils in the lower regions, sandy-schist soils in the higher areas, and yellow sands and sandstones in the middle.Ageing: The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats, with a 20-day maceration on the skins. Malolactic fermentation takes place in steel vats, and the wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of new and re-used wooden barriques.
Tasting Notes: Bright red robe. It opens with vibrant fruity aromas of blackberry, plum, and currant, complemented by toasted and vanilla notes. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with a lingering finish that reveals a pleasantly sweet, fruity aftertaste.
